Multiscale connectivity at species and community levels to achieve conservation goals under climate change in the Western Indian Ocean (MESCAL)

MESCAL is a 4 year project beginning in June 2025 directed by Thomas Lamy and David M. Kaplan involving partners from 5 countries. The overall objective of the project is to understand the role of marine protected areas (MPAs) in assuring climate resilience of coastal marine ecosystems in East Africa via protection of intra- and inter-specific diversity and exchange of individuals via larval dispersal. For more details, see the project summary. The project is financed by the SIOMPA call for proposals.
